Lost Tribes: Social Media Breakfast, Cambridge, MA

Howard and Mike had a great time a the Ryles Jazz Club for the 12th Social Media Breakfast. The presenters were: Dave McLaughlin, xecutive Director of Boston World Partnerships, Peter Levine, Director of CIRCLE, The Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement, and Justin Levy, General Manager of New Marketing Labs.

Tech[design]ology Conference, Boston, MA

Mike attended the Tech[design]ology Conference in Boston. Topics discussed ranged from using the latest Adobe CS4 suite to converting leads through the use of effective landing pages. Sandra Niehaus' insights on usability and search engine optimization were really wonderful.

Brochure and Poster Design:

The State of Massachusetts' Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program needed two print pieces designed to attract the attention of mothers in specific neighborhoods and demographics. Metropolis reviewed the goals, target audience, listened to user experience feedback from the state team and designed a 3.25" x 8.25" 4 color brochure and 11" x 17" matching poster. The pieces addressed the importance of consistent messaging with familiar imagery that would resonate with the target audience. Specifically, age appropriate babies and children were used as primary design imagery along with primary colors and straight forward narrative. The items were also translated into seven languages.

The WIC program is happily benefiting by seeing response rates and solid familiarity with their brand.
